Life is messy. People are messy.
(That’s my clinical diagnosis)
With that in mind, let me just say that my whole approach to helping people is fairly free-flowing in nature. You see, there are the stories we carry around with us, and then there are the stories behind the stories. And that’s where I believe the real healing needs to happen.
If you don’t mind a therapeutic approach that’s a little more organic, unconventional, and out-of-the-box, then maybe this is the right fit for you. I draw from holistic methods of practice, with a free-flow style that allows clients the space they need to simply explore, navigate, and ultimately to face whatever challenges they’re currently dealing with in life. You might say that my aim is to help you move past your hurts and pains so that you can ultimately grow beyond these stories through a process of serious healing.
I believe in being authentic in my work with people; using a grounded approach that’s both real and honest. Furthermore, it’s important for me to be able to meet you precisely where you are in life – without any preconceptions or false beliefs about where society and others might want you to be.
The point is, you’re unique…and no one else is the expert of your life. Yet it’s so true that we can easily get caught up in distorted realities and expectations that basically snuff out the light of our greatest passions and dreams. For some of us, unfortunately, this becomes our norm, and this is the reason why I like to be very open and flexible in my commitment to meeting your unique needs and circumstances.
I believe that people want their lives to be healthy, meaningful, enjoyable and peaceful. These are not impossible things, by any stretch, and are totally within reach. My counselling and coaching approaches are based on the belief that people can experience real, genuine healing (regardless of age or circumstances) and that people can fundamentally connect with their greatest potential as a human being.
My therapeutic work is informed by a variety of perspectives. These include conflict theory, family systems theory, psychodynamic theory, and social learning theory. As far as practice models are concerned, I draw from areas of narrative therapy, task and solution-centered therapy, crisis-based therapy, psychotherapy, Gestalt therapy, as well as approaches that are geared towards transpersonal and spiritual development in general.
I am fueled by the vision that each of us are born with profound gifts and talents that can be used for ultimate good, and I consider it my personal joy and privilege to be able to serve others through encouraging them to find healing and clarity in their lives.
Quite frankly, I really just like people, and I love working in ways that help them explore some of the most essential parts of themselves.
